Behind the Scenes Drama of It Ends With Us: TikTok Sleuths Suspect Tension Between Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni

The excitement around It Ends With Us, the new film adaptation of Colleen Hoover’s best-selling novel, isn’t just about the movie itself.

Lately, TikTok sleuths have been buzzing about a possible rift between the film’s stars, Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni.

Why Are Fans Talking?

It all started when fans noticed something odd: Lively and Baldoni, the two lead actors and co-producers of the film, haven’t been seen together at any of the movie’s premieres.

While Baldoni showed up with his wife Emily and their family, Lively was busy posing with other co-stars like Brandon Sklenar, Jenny Slate, and Isabela Ferrer, along with her husband, Ryan Reynolds.

Instagram Follows—or Lack Thereof

As usual, social media detectives took things a step further.

They discovered that none of the cast members, including Lively, Sklenar, Slate, and even the book’s author, Colleen Hoover, are following Baldoni on Instagram.

This lack of mutual follows has only added to the speculation that something might be up behind the scenes.

The mystery deepens when you consider the press interviews. Lively has been paired with Sklenar for most of the promotional rounds, but Baldoni has been strangely absent. Even more telling, when Jenny Slate was asked about Baldoni in an interview, she quickly changed the subject, fueling the rumors even more.

Ryan Reynolds Steps In—But Was It Welcomed?

Another interesting tidbit came out when Lively revealed that her husband, Ryan Reynolds, had a hand in writing one of the scenes in the film.

She mentioned in an interview that Reynolds wrote the dialogue for the iconic rooftop scene—a revelation that caught even the film’s screenwriter, Christy Hall, by surprise.

Hall initially thought the lines had been improvised, but now everyone’s wondering how Baldoni felt about Reynolds’ unexpected contribution.

Marketing Missteps?

The way It Ends With Us has been marketed hasn’t helped calm the rumors either.

Some fans have criticized Lively for not treating the film’s serious themes, like domestic violence, with the gravity they deserve.

For instance, a promotional skit featuring Reynolds interviewing Sklenar seemed more like a cross-promotion for Reynolds’ upcoming Deadpool & Wolverine film, rather than a thoughtful discussion of the movie’s heavy topics.

Still, Lively has spoken out about her character’s journey, emphasizing that while Lily Bloom is a survivor and a victim, those labels don’t define her. “She defines herself, and I think it’s empowering that no one else can define you,” she told the BBC.

Despite directing the first film, Baldoni has hinted that he might not return for the sequel, It Starts With Us. In an interview with Entertainment Tonight, he suggested that Lively might be ready to take over the director’s chair.

“I think Blake’s ready to direct. That’s what I think,” he said, adding that Lively’s creativity and intelligence had a huge impact on the production.

Is It All Just PR?

Whether these rumors of a falling-out are true or just a clever PR move, they’ve certainly got people talking.

It Ends With Us had a strong $80 million global opening weekend, proving that a little off-screen drama can be just as compelling as the movie itself.
