Ralf Schumacher, an old race car driver, just told everyone he likes men. He’s now the most famous driver to do this. His brother Michael was also a big winner in racing.
Ralf shared a nice picture online. It was him and his friend Etienne watching the sunset together. He wrote about how great it is to have someone special in your life.
Ralf didn’t say it immediately, but his friend Carmen talked about it. She’s an actor from Germany. She said Ralf finally told people he likes men and that it was really brave.

Ralf used to race cars for different teams. He did this for ten years and won some big races. People think it’s cool that he told everyone about liking men because it shows racing is becoming friendlier to all kinds of people.
Not many race car drivers have said they like the same gender. Only two others did it before Ralf. One was a guy named Mike, and the other was a woman named Lella. Lella liked women and had a girlfriend for a long time.

Now, there’s a group trying to make racing nicer for everyone, no matter who they like or how they feel about themselves. Lots of people in racing are helping this group.
In other kinds of racing, more drivers say they like the same gender, too. There’s even a driver named Charlie who was born a boy but lives as a girl now. She thinks it’s important to show everyone can be part of racing.
An older driver named Mário said he liked men and women when he was young. And there’s Hurley, who’s famous. He won lots of long races. He told people he likes men after he stopped racing because he was scared it might cause problems before.
